Microsoft Teams Client System Requirements
Below are the core requirements for running the Microsoft Teams client on supported devices. Teams can be installed on desktops, laptops, and mobile devices, and also accessed via supported web browsers.
Desktop (Windows & Mac)
Windows
- Processor: 1.1 GHz or faster, dual‑core
- Memory: Minimum 4 GB RAM
- Disk space: Minimum 3 GB available
- Display: 1024 × 768 or higher resolution
- Graphics: DirectX 9 or later; WDDM 2.0+ for Windows 10
- Operating System: Windows 10 (version 19041+) or Windows 11 (excluding Windows 10/11 LTSC)
macOS
- Processor: Dual‑core
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- Disk space: Minimum 1.5 GB available
- Display: 1200 × 800 or higher resolution
- OS: One of the three most recent macOS versions
Web Browser
You can use Teams in a web browser without installing the desktop app. Supported browsers include:
- Microsoft Edge: Latest three versions
- Google Chrome: Latest three versions
- Firefox: Latest three versions
- Safari: Latest two versions (macOS)
Note: For full functionality, some features may require third‑party cookies enabled in the browser. The web version is not recommended in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environments.
Mobile Devices
- Android: Last four major versions supported
- iOS: Last two major versions supported
General Requirements
- A Microsoft account is required to sign in
- An active internet connection is needed for Teams functionality
