Automatically forwarding university email can create a security risk that may put students, faculty, and staff at risk of fraud or identity theft.
To protect sensitive and confidential information, faculty, staff, and consultants are no longer permitted to automatically forward emails from the Office 365 (@HarrisburgU.edu) system to outside email addresses.
NOTE: This policy is only enforced for Faculty and Staff. While students are encouraged not to forward email, the setup process will not be blocked.
As a university employee, you may have access to confidential or sensitive information related to other faculty, staff, students, or members of the university community. Automatically forwarding email without review—or using a personal account to handle this information—can create data security risks and may put others at risk of identity theft or misuse. Always use your Office 365 email account for work-related communications to keep university information secure.
