Harrisburg University has conditional access policies in place that force two-step authentication in order to access HU online resources. Conditional access policies consist of but are not limited to application type, location, authentication type and role based access. VPN connections are not supported and can sometimes cause Microsoft risk detections that block or prevent login based off IP location.
Two-step verification is an additional security step that helps protect your account by making it harder for other people to break in. The suggested second method of verification is the Microsoft Authenticator app. The Microsoft Authenticator app helps you sign-in to your accounts by clicking "approve" or "number matching" on your mobile device.
To setup, delete or change defaults related to the Microsoft Authenticator App follow the instructions at Set up the Microsoft Authenticator app as your verification method
Important: If you do not use the Microsoft Authenticator app and plan on traveling outside the United States, please make sure you will have access to the previously set SMS or voice number.
