How to report a message as Phishing in Outlook.

With the rise of AI, threat actors are sending more and more malicious emails to sender in and out of an organization. Now more than ever it's important to know how to report phishing and suspicious behavior in Outlook.

A phishing email is an email that appears legitimate but is actually an attempt to get your personal information or steal your money. Some deceptive emails appear to be from a safe sender but, in fact, have a "spoofed" source address to fool you. Here are some ways to deal with phishing and spoofing scams in Outlook.

Reporting messages within Outlook is important in not just protecting yourself, but other members within your organization as well. When you report, Outlook will gather all relevant information about the sender and email and notify OIS to review the message. Then OIS can take administrative action to either release the email should it be deemed safe, or block the sender address from messaging other users if it is malicious.

Let's go over how to report in Outlook in both desktop and mobile versions.
